Okay, so today I read that Twitter is coming out with their own Advertising Platform. At least for big name clients right now like Best Buy, Virgin America, and Starbucks. It doesn’t seem like there will be a self-serve platform yet, but anyways…
As most readers of this blog know, my main source of traffic comes from PPC from the top three search engines, I still believe that this is the absolute best traffic you can get and some of the easiest to make work and see the biggest profit revenues from.
However, there is one mistake I’ve made several times in the past that I’m not planning on making this time…
For whatever reason, when these new ad platforms for social media sites come out…Facebook, Myspace, etc come out, I don’t jump on board immediately…
My reasoning most of the times is because there is so much to figure out because it’s new that I just don’t have the time, or I tell myself I’ll let a couple people get going and write up a couple guides that way I don’t have to go in and spend a bunch of money testing stuff…
This time I’ll be jumping on board as soon as they offer it to us regular folks and I encourage you to do the same as well if you’re normally like I am when it comes to new ad platforms that social media sites release.
If you’d like more information on it, TechCrunch, Jonathan Volk, and Zac Johnson have all written articles on Twitter’s New Ad Platform, I’d definitely recommend giving them a read.

Like I’ve said on both of their articles, actually, I cannot see this being profitable at this point. I also don’t know if they will release a self-serve platform out of the gate, but we will see.
I definitely agree about jumping on it as soon as possible when it launches though, talk about massive margins!
Great post.
I doubt they will be releasing a self-server platform right out of the gate either, however, I disagree that it won’t be profitable, there is always someone out there that will find a way to make it profitable, the question is are you going to allow it to be you, or will it be someone else?
Thanks for the advice, I wanna ask you a question, i was thinking about driving traffic from adwords to one of my sites and depend on affiliate as a source of earning but i don’t know if that is right or not because i don’t have much money for a trial and error in that part, or i have money but not ready now to try a thing which i don’t know any information about.
If you have doubts, set aside a very small budget such as $50. Do a bit of research online about best strategies. Then put those to use and see what happens. When relying on affiliate sources of income pay attention to who you are competing with. If it is a lot of manufacturers or the people you are an affiliate for, it is likely that it will be tough to make money. You would simply have a smaller profit margin than these sites.
It’s been a longtime overdue, but I am glad that they are finally opening up their platform. I believe it will be a pretty big thing overall and might very well be just as good an earner as adwords.
I agree that the people who get in on these new platforms early are usually the people who reap the most rewards. With most platforms it is common for the prices to gradually go up as more people jump on board.
i am not at the same idea with you about facebook because it is a great source of visitors for thos who know what to do.
