Besides Your Affiliate Offer How Can You Make Money – Part Three

October 2nd, 2008 Derek

Hey guys, I know it’s been a couple days since I wrote Part Two of this series, Using Contextual Ads on Affiliate Sites, but as you have seen, I’ve been doing some changes here on the blog which has taken a bit of my time and put a short little hold on this series…

BUT, I’m back and the series is back and it’s time to talk about the next thing you may wish to consider trying when running an affiliate site and you’re looking for other ways to monetize your site!

This time, I want to talk about RSS Feeds.  How many affiliates out there add fresh content on a consistent basis to their affiliate sites?  Hopefully most of you do as this can have several great benefits including increased organic traffic and also increased quality scores within the PPC networks.  So how does adding fresh content to your site have anything to do with RSS Feeds?

Well, it’s quite simple really.  Most affiliates I know that add content to sites are using either some type of blogging software like Wordpress or a CMS (content management system).  Either way, most of these systems offer a built in RSS feed which allows visitors to your site to sign up for it and receive updates each time new content is added.

How can we use this to make money?  There are several programs out there, including one within your Google Adsense program that allows you to put advertisements within your RSS Feeds thus allowing you to make money from all those subscribers.

Another great thing about using this method is that it will not hurt conversions to your affiliate offer at all.  This only advertises to people that signed up for your RSS Feed.  They have already come to your site and done their business and are now frequent visitors to read your updated content.

Like all the others, this is just another way that you can increase your income.  While it may not make a ton on its own, combined with all the others it can bring in some serious bank!
