A great post,

I quite my jib and went full time online but took a huge risk as did not have any money saved up and was not earning much!

I am still cool with my decision and am only just getting to a stage where I can start to see some light (after quite a few months) but July is make or break for me (I just lost an income source so need to find another) and I may have to go back to the drudgery of 9-5 work come August.

I'm not giving up on the net though, as I am only just beginning to truly learn what I can and will achieve (especially through things like the CC Forum)

My advice from experience is the same as Derek gave here! Don't give up your day job, until you are at that point of comfortability.... it will make it much easier.

Great post Derek! I think if you're really wanting to quit your day job setting a goal date to make a certain amount of money helps. That's what I'm currently working on and it's keeping me VERY motivated.

Definitely sounds familiar. I get a ton of work done, have some money saved, and then end up slacking until I need money again. I'm working on fixing that though :)

Nice article!

"Don’t Become Lazy!"

I have to agree with this one. I became too complacent and lost everything at one point.

Nicely put Derek. I was in the same situation, only difference was I quit college to pursue the "Work-from-Home Dream". Not making mega-buck, but enough to get through nicely :D

3 times your monthly income. So if your making 3,000 dollars a month from your 9-5 job give yourself 9,000 a month from affiliate marketing before you quit. Just a little safety net and allows you to continue to have money to reinvest each month even after you pay your bills.

"A good number to quit your job I have heard is 3 times your job income." -- Job income per what? I'm guessing months. And what about the number, what do you mean? Saved in the bank, in the business or what? Maybe you could clarify, it seems like there are some words missing... ;-)
