Over the roughly six months that I've really jumped in affiliate marketing I've finally started to "make headway" and start pulling in some actual cash. Using the resources on this forum and some of my own ideas I've finally started to make progress. I'm still in the itsy bitsy stages of $x,xxx profits/month, but chugging along.
Like many of you, I constantly test campaigns to see if any new offers are viable. Generally I make a new YSM account and feed in a hundred bucks and with the bonus its a nice run for most small offers. However now that I've had a couple campaigns start off running, its made me more lax. More apt to throw cash around. And wow did it bite me in the ass the last few days.
Instead of following the keyword building techniques shown here on CC and mentioned numerous times elsewhere I just lazily threw together some YSM suggest keywords and put up some "guess" bids....on my main money account.....with a landing page that I hadn't tested yet (for operability).....then let it run on its own.....$1,000 in about four days for....$20 return lol.
I think this could be a viable campaign eventually, which makes it all the worse that I've garnered basically no usable information since my conversion tracking wasn't working. Paid $1,000 to find that poorly created campaigns yield poor results, hopefully some other noob won't make the same mistake now.
