Hey all,

I've been at this (SEO) for maybe 5 months, and am just now beginning to see the fruits of my labors. Nothing spectacular, but it's extra cash for something I was doing as a hobby. Anyways, just recently I've started getting into the Internet marketing thing "hardcore" and reading everything I can to get this thing going. I really like doing it, and think it's something I could definitely work hard to do in the long term.

I really want to get into PPC. SEO and free traffic are nice and all, but they take FOREVER. I want to get stuff going and see results faster than 6 months later down the line. That's possible with PPC, and SUP3RNOVA has said it himself that he likes PPC because of that reason.

Anyways, I'm completely and utterly stuck on where to start. I know how to find a good physical product, make a site about it and optimize it for SEO, but I am completely lost when it comes to lead generation and landing pages, and how to deal with PPC competition.

I screwed around with PPC and have wasted maybe a couple hundred $ with crappy conversions. I'm in college (around uberaffiliate's age, hehe) and don't have a whole lot of money to throw around yet, but I am willing to take risks, don't get me wrong. And I'm not lazy--I've been putting 8+ hours a day into this thing and once summer comes around I fully expect to put in 18 hours/day. I'm going to work my butt off at this until I succeed, then continue to work my butt off.

Anyways, just wanted to talk about my situation and ask if anyone can offer some insight. I'll keep poking around here and reading some more, but I really need to get something started pretty quick here. I'm sick of sitting around and not earning money :p

Well PPC really isn't that hard as long as you don't try to tackle google adwords right off the bat, focus on keeping your bids really low until you get the hang of it so that you don't lose much money. If you keep your bids low, its pretty easy to make at least a couple bucks a day. So that way you can get a feel for PPC and not a crapload of money.

As for writing off SEO, don't! PPC is great, but so is SEO! Why only pick one? Get an offer going on PPC bringing in some change and then work on SEO on it as well. I personally work on both on every single offer I do.

I don't see the point of doing one over the other!

I think there are some real words of wisdom there...especially in this competitive PPC climate...think long-term, think quality -- always.
