YSM Questions

Running my first YSM campaign. a few questions:

1. When I write my ad, how can I change my display url? When I first registered, I gave them my-domain.com....now I want to change it to my-domain.com/add-text-here. how to do it? I searched every where don't seem to be able to do it :confused:

2. I am using SpeedPPC, but still don't have a YSM gold acc. So I need to manually do it for every adgroup....can't copy and paste what SpeedPPC split out.

How can I make sure kw searched by visitors will appear on title and display url?

Is this the right way?

What do I put in xxxxxxx? say I have 100 kw in an adgroup, what do I replace xxxxxxx with? any text I need to input there? Or just leave it blank?

I've turned on my YSM tracking.

When I have a gold acc from YSM, I'll upload what SpeedPPC spit out.

First, I need to make sure I know what I'm doing. I need KW appear on title and display url. and I need YSM to place whatever kw searched on to my LP. Is the following set up correct?

I use standard match in YSM, for Headline, is "{matchtype}" correct? or do I need to change it to something else?

What about display url and destination url...all correctly set up?

Instead of {matchtype} which would show Standard I believe, you want to use {seed} or {final} depending on the blend type you're using.

You'll need to finish typing out everything in the actual url if you want all of the tokens, seed={seed}&expansion={expan....

With YSM you can't get the keyword in the actual URL, since it's automatically passed, so you need to enter seed= manually for each keyword. You can also add logic on your page to look for seed=, if it doesn't get filled use OVKEY instead.

1. Administration tab -> Account General Information (press edit)
This is just the default display url though for creating new ads. Changing this won't change any of your previous ads. If you want to change the display url, you need to do that while editing the ads (called Display url, but need to click on it to see the field)

2. Manually yeah, but I *think* you can call Yahoo up and have them do an upload for you. I've never done it, but I think I know someone else who has.

By the way, {KEYWORD: kw here} should be more like {KEYWORD: Default Keyword}
That way the default keyword will be used if the dynamically inserted one cannot, for reasons like too many characters.

I've new question:

In "New Campaign Kick Off Technique", Ian advices start a campaign and then pause it to wait for approval. Do I set up all adgroups + ads, activate them, and then come back to pause all of them by clicking the "pause" tab below?

how do I know everything is approved? Where can I find it in YSM admin area? Campaigns > Editorial Status? I am confused?

Yes, look at editorial status.

I've set up all my adgroups, there are tens of keywords pending approval.

Almost all of them are trademark names/brand names. I doubt YSM will ever approve them.

I have no ads pending approval.

What do I do after 1-2 days if the editorial status remain the same? Do I just launch the campaign and not worry about the keywords or do I need to delete them one by one?

It's been awhile since I've had to personally add stuff to my YSM campaign.
But from memory it takes 2-5 business days to get everything approved.
Personally I would just wait.
