What's all these about?
Honestly speaking, I was hoping to see people here being more helpful and sharing tips on getting leads and stuff like that.
After all, this is a protected forum and all of us paid good money here.
I've been toiling hard for the past week, spending the whole day trying to tune my campaigns but with no visible improvements.
I'm a keen and eager learner but it just seems that the majority here are not prepared to be willing teachers. :(

I think all you need to get going is in this forum. Go back to the learning center an re-read the 'getting started' posts, and be honest with yourself.

1. Are you using a good quality landing page?
2. Have you grouped your keywords by 'theme'?
3. Have you uploaded 20Kish keywords?
4. Did you take time writing your ads and look at what the competition is doing?
5. Did you actually write 20ads per ad group?
6. Have you stuck to the golden rule of $0.10 per click?
7. Have you removed keywords that were getting lots of impressions but no clicks?
8. Are you tracking you keywords and clicks with PHP?

If you can say yes to most and have tried your very best, you might conclude that this niche is not for you - so time to test another.

The number 1 rule is to never give up :)

I've almost everything here a few times now. You can see that I'm online here the whole day unless I'm sleeping or I'm out. If I haven't read everything, then the fault really lies with me.

1. Are you using a good quality landing page?
I had QS of 3 to 4 for all my ads the past few days.

2. Have you grouped your keywords by 'theme'?
I've tried that more than 5 days ago.

3. Have you uploaded 20Kish keywords?
30k to 40k keywords.

4. Did you take time writing your ads and look at what the competition is doing?
Yes, that is definitely a must.

5. Did you actually write 20ads per ad group?
Yes.

6. Have you stuck to the golden rule of $0.10 per click?
Yes.

7. Have you removed keywords that were getting lots of impressions but no clicks?
I can't even do that yet because my main problem lies with the lack of impressions for my ads! Even if I were to have no QS, I still think 10k impressions per day is kind of little for a list of 30k words, most of which I consider to be rather relevant.

8. Are you tracking you keywords and clicks with PHP?
No point in doing that yet. Gotta solve problem in 7 first.

The number 1 rule is to never give up :)
I'm never one to give up easily. Right now, I'm trying to test other sources of traffic. Hopefully, things will start improving for me. :)

p.s. While it's good to see many people are making money, it's not so nice to rub it in.

Are you not getting any clicks at all?

Perhaps your keywords are too targetted?

Why not try this experiment.

Start a new ad group but use the yahoo keyword tool and stick about 250 in that, I have just tried that with my niche, and two days later it's my best performing adgroup.

Worth a try...

Once you start to get clicks start tracking. That's the stage i am at now.

I have the same problem.

I'm making 200-250% ROI but can't get clicks, just 10-20 a day.

Its your ctr guys, its something yahoo has recently implemented and I'm just realizing it, you never had to worry about it in yahoo until recently, but if your ctr is low then you will stop getting impressions and clicks. You need to work on your ctr.

The best way to do this is delete keywords that aren't converting at all for you, and also delete ads that have low ctr and replace them with another ad.

You should be trying to hit 4% or higher ctr.

4%? I understand now, I have only 0.3%!! Going to improve it now ;)

Wow 4% is hard. Its hard to control the ctr with 50K keywords.

Yeah it is, and its something yahoo has just recently done on top of their ad quality score, so you guys are going to start breaking your adgroups into more targeted stuff like you would google. I know I know, I'm having to do it also now.

And people think after they learn the basics they can make money using the same techniques forever :D Stuff changes in affiliate marketing all the time :D HINT HINT for those canceling their membership :D

That would explain it, if it's gonna be as tough as adwords might as well start out running campaigns with google first. Pretty hard to get 4% CTR with 20 ads no matter how many times you rewrite them methinks.

Surely though if we cut down our number of keywords per adgroup, then we can cut down the number of ads too.....

Yes, and in that case why not go with adwords to start where there is more traffic? :)

Yahoo is still alot easier then adwords, trust me, and also its not that hard to have a 4% ctr...really I'm not lying, you will be up to 4% before you know it and pushing it even higher! :D

Question, are you still running 20 ads at 4% CTR? I would imagine you would have to cut down to atleast < 5 no?

Yes, I am cutting down my ads at this point, I still recommend that when you are starting up a new campaign to use 20 to get it going and to help with keywords getting accepted, but after a couple weeks (about 2) that its doing well you should then start focusing on ctr and not adding tons of more keywords. I've currently cut my ads down to only 2 per adgroup and I have optimize ads turned off so that they are displayed evenly and ever 3 days approx. I delete the ads that have the lower ctr and replace them with something new.
