Alright, so we established that you need more than 1 ad per ad group for quality score and CTR purposes. But in Yahoo when you're new, it's a huge pain to make 20 ads for every individual ad group - it would take forever. There's a little "shortcut" around this...
Go into your campaign, and make an ad group entitled "Dummy". Ad 1 keyword to it that's just a general keyword (ex. if you're doing dating, just add "online dating" in as the keyword). Now, make your 10-20 ads that you will be using for all of your other keywords.
Now if you click into that ad group and look at the top right, you'll see a "Campaign Settings" button. There is a little arrow button to the right of that, click it and a drop down menu will show up. Select the "Copy" option, and a new window will come up. Name the new ad group "Ad Group 1" or whatever you want, and click to copy it. Make sure you set it to your current campaign, and unclick the content match box.
Now if you go into Ad Group 1, you'll see that it has your 20 ads. Now just add all your keywords for the ad group. Once you're maxed, go back into Dummy and copy it again and make Ad Group 2, and so on. Keep doing this and you'll save yourself from hours of writing ads!
