Okay Guys, Derek here and today I decided to write about a topic/question that I’m asked by alot of people. And it simply is…
How do I do affiliate marketing?
As most of you know, Paul and I went to Affiliate Summit this last week and I realized something while we were there. First we went to a seminar by Amit and he said during his presentation that You as an affiliate marketer should not have too many campaigns going and that you should focus on a couple niches and work on getting them to be big.
Now I went to another seminar by Kris Jones and during Kris’s seminar he said that the way he got started was to focus on doing tons of niches and try to get them to be making 50 dollars a day. So he would lets say start a ringtone campaign get it up to 50 dollars a day and then move on to the next niche.
Now why did I bring all this up and how does it have anything to do with How do I do affiliate marketing. Well if you are waiting for me to tell my techniques to you then you’ll have to join our forums. But what I will tell you is, stop following what others are doing.
The point of the above example is to show you that TWO different people using TWO different methods are both making a heck of a lot of money in this industry. There is no right or wrong way to do affiliate marketing. There are just those that aren’t afraid to experiment and lose some money over and over until they figure out what works for them and there are those that are afraid to lose money. Until you get to the point where you aren’t afraid to test everything and lose money then I don’t see you becoming a huge affiliate marketer.
Even if your making money with a campaign that doesn’t mean you should stop testing stuff in that campaign. I see too many people that get a campaign making 10 – 15 dollars a day profit and they stop and move on. Yet if they just tried another landing page they could of tripled their profit in 30 mins of work.
So, find what works for you and do it. Shoemoney, Amit, Kris, etc didn’t get to be huge affiliates by following what someone else was doing. They figured out what worked for them.
