Understanding ECPC (Estimated Cost Per Click)

September 9th, 2008 Derek

Hey guys, I was chatting with a friend today and we started talking about ECPC’s and how you can use them to help decide your starting bids on a campaign when getting started and I decided to do a little video about ECPC’s.

Uhh eCPC known as EFFECTIVE cost per click, is used by networks.

EPC – earnings per click – is used by affiliates and you can’t gauge any starting bids off of EPC because your page and/or traffic can be completely different than the majority of affiliates currently running the offer.

Haha, you two are absolutely correct… It’s hard to believe I’ve been doing this for over two years now and have always called it the wrong thing.

Although RonJon, I disagree that you can’t use EPC to judge your starting bids, I’ve taught it for years and I’ve produced several top affiliates that it has worked for.
