Updating to Wordpress 2.5

March 29th, 2008 Derek

Hey guys, over the span of the next little bit I’ll be updating the blog to wordpress 2.5 which was released earlier today if my memory serves me right! :P Anyways, if you notice anything out of whack please bear with me as I’ll be fixing it asap.

I’ll let you all know how it goes.

UPDATE: Wordpress 2.5 has been installed and it was actually quite easy. And I was worried something was going to go wrong. I’ll do an update on some of the new features once I get some time to test it out. I can already say though that I love the automatic update feature for plugins!

I’m glad you said that. I’m a huge fan of plugins and I keep reading how MANY are now incompatible with 2.5….please keep us updated.

Well I have about 10 plugins on this blog that I use, and when I updated not one of them had any problems with incompatibility. So I can’t say one way or the other for sure, but it worked fine for me and all my plugins were fine, a few needed updated but like I said the auto update plugins feature made it take about 5 seconds…literally!

I use about 40 plugins, so I won’t be updating anytime soon, but I’d be interested in hearing about how you like using after say a week or two, and a screenshot or two.

Its definitely worth upgrading, I personally love the new features and option and the new layout. It takes a little getting use to, but its worth it once you get it down. I’ll definitely be doing a bigger writeup on it here in a couple days.
