What Are Your Experiences With Bing?

August 21st, 2009 Derek

Microsoft-Bing-logoIf you know me at all, you know that I’m a big advocate of using the other search engines besides just Google, for several reasons that I’m not gonna list in this article but that you can find if you do a search or two on this blog.

Anyways, while this won’t be an article that really lists tons of helpful advice, or give you a long list about some great things you can do in Bing, I would like to point out a thing I’ve been noticing with my own affiliate stuff lately…

The amount of traffic that I’m receiving from using the MSN Adcenter is growing and it’s particularly growing on with Bing.  It seems that more and more people are using Bing and the conversion rates for me are definitely higher on Bing than on both Google and Yahoo.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised to see my traffic coming from Bing continuing to grow in these last couple months and I really feel the need to blog about this and tell you guys, that if you’re not using Bing and you’re just promoting your stuff on Yahoo and Google, then you’re missing out on some great opportunities.

Of course I’m not saying that Bing is going to take over either of the other two search engines anytime soon in terms of volume and traffic, but I am saying that they are growing and getting in early in this business seems to never let me down!

I’d definitely recommend checking them out!  If you have any tips or experiences with Bing that you’d like to share, I’d love to hear about them in the comments!

Derek — really interesting to see a post about how Bing is helping drive your personal traffic. That’s a different take than I’ve seen on most blogs discussing the Bing introduction.

We were interested to see if we could break a long Google habit while learning more about Bing, and we had some pretty cool discoveries you might be interested in seeing. Please swing by http://www.t-3.com/blog and let us know if you’ve had any similar experiences! We’re curious to see if other people are adopting Bing and what they think of it.

as bing is another face of MSN and live search so its another one of the greatest search engine but my experience with bing is not so good. the most of the visitor on my site comes from google and a few from yahoo also but from bing i get hardly 2 or 3 visitors per day so its not so good.

Recently, I have noticed an increase in traffic to my Elder Care website coming from Bing. I haven’t yet checked Bing out, but plan to do so today. Thank you for this reminder.

I would definitely like to see Bing get a bigger share of the search traffic, from my experience I feel like the search results are relatively the same between Bing, and the former Live/MSN search engine. Hopefully the aggressive marketing campaign by Microsoft allows the Bing market share to grow, and sustain that growth.

Till then,

Jean

My experience has been similar with Bing, at least with the search traffic hitting my sites. However, Microsoft Advertising is still abysmal in regards to sending any kind of traffic. This may be in part due to my niche.

My experience with bing is average, its not too good neither too bad. From bing i do not receive much traffic. I recive most of traffic on my site from google. In this way its not good but whatever amount of traffic i get from bing pays me high revenues because i use chitka advertisement service on one of my site. And chitka ads pays high PPC rate on the traffic arrived from bing than that of google. So in this way its nice for me. So on an whole its an average search engine for me. This is really a nice sharing. good luck.

I think I have depleted them of their cashback :) That’s all I used them for anyways.

Yes I am sure bing’s market share will gradually grow over the coming year. I have also found that bing traffic converts better than Google or Yahoo traffic. Unfortunately for some smaller niches, there still isn’t enough traffic to get by.

Bing is only between 3 and 4% of my traffic (across three sites) compared to 60 to 70% form Google. However, since Bing came about, more of my pages are ranked and more pages are higher on Bing than on Google.

You had some interesting results. I will be watching what Bing does more closely.

Thanks for the information.

I think bing has improved a lot from msn search. Still it likely has a long way to go to be able to compete with Google. Google has been ingrained into our heads as the best and only search engine. Hopefully microsoft pours enough advertising dollars into bing. I sure would like to see a serious competitor to Google.

Hey, its interesting with what you say about your conversion rates with Bing. Have you noticed increases accross the board or just in some niches? Interesting article – thanks!

A lot of the results seem to be adult based, but other than that it’s fine.

My first preference is always Google for searching. Most of traffic of my site comes from Google, Yahoo and AOL but hardly visitor comes from Bing.

Bing is alive from some time now and I must say that I’m satisfied. Bing results are close to those coming from Google, and there is nothing more I demand from a search engine.
