What is Affiliate Marketing?

Well, seeing as this is a new blog, and I’m a new blogger. Normally Paul (Sup3rnova) does all the writing for our blogs. He’s the pro writer with mad skills. Anyways, I decided that with this new blog I would attempt to do some writing also.

So, I asked myself, what would be a great post to write about? And seeing that this is a new blog, I decided my first post should tell a little bit about what Paul and I do and what affiliate marketing is.

So, here we go. What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate Marketing is simply advertising a product or service for a company and in return you receive a commission when the user completes the required steps. So for example as every loves to talk about Ringtones when talking about affiliate marketing.

Lets say I have a website where I have a landing page that offers a user 10 Bonus Ringtones if they sign up for the service. Now you receive a payout (commission) after the user completes 3 steps.

First, the user will need to go from your landing page to the landing page of the company you are promoting ringtones for.

Secondly, they will need to enter their mobile phone number into the box.

Third, they will receive a text message on their phone with a PIN number that they will need to input into the website.

After the user completes these three steps, you will receive a payout. Now of course there is more to affiliate marketing then just that, but at least you get the basic gist of it.

There are several ways to use a cpa network, like AzoogleAds, you can promote the offers on your own websites using banners or text links. You can also use PPC which is basically using something like Google Adwords to buy ad space on other sites to promote your offers. Or you can use Email Marketing to promote your offers if you have large lists of email addresses.

So there are 3 ways to use a CPA network to your advantage and now you should know the gist of it, so have fun, try it out, it can be a great addition to Adsense or another ad system that you are currently using.
